What happens if the referee cancels or no-shows?
You're fully protected — your payment is returned in full, including the booking fee. The referee is charged a $10 penalty. Their account is immediately locked and they will not receive any new game assignments until the $10 is paid.
How does the $10 penalty work for referees?
Simple: if a referee cancels after accepting a booking or doesn't show up to a game, they are charged a $10 penalty fee. Until that fee is paid, their account is locked and no new assignments will be offered to them on the platform.
Why 5% + 5% instead of one charge?
The split aligns incentives on both sides. The 5% booking fee confirms your commitment. The 5% release fee is only charged when the referee actually completes the game — so the platform only earns when everyone succeeds.
Is there a subscription or monthly fee?
No subscriptions. Ever. You only pay when you book a referee. There are no monthly plans, no annual fees, and no minimum booking commitments. Book once or book every week — it's entirely up to you.
When does the referee get paid?
Once the game is confirmed complete, Ref4You initiates the payout automatically. Referees typically receive funds within 1–3 business days via Stripe.
